GLOSSARY
group
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
A set of transformations closed under composition and inverses, with an identity — rotations, translations, permutations. Groups give a precise language for the symmetries a problem has, which is the starting point for building networks whose predictions respect those symmetries by construction rather than by data augmentation. It is not the everyday sense of a group of items: the operation, not just the membership, is the point.
