ABOUT
About PaperLens and our editorial policy
PaperLens explains AI, semiconductors, algorithms and the math beneath them, in English and Japanese.
Who runs it
PaperLens is published by TechAthletes (a trade name). Every article is credited to TechAthletes; we do not publish individual author names.

Editorial policy
- How articles are made. Articles are drafted with AI (large language models) and published only after passing the checks below. A person does not read every article word by word, which is why we record the checks and their results here and in each article's source list.
- Paper explainers (published on or after October 20, 2026). We fetch the paper's full text and back up to 25 of the article's numbers, results and claims with sentences copied verbatim from it. A script then checks that every copied sentence really appears in the full text. One mismatch, one quote not found in the paper, or one number without support, and the article is not published. The official implementation's repository is listed as a source. We also measure text overlap with existing articles and hold back anything that repeats one.
- Figures. We do not reproduce figures from papers; the explanatory figures are our own drawings.
- Paid sections. Some articles have a members-only second half. It is declared to search engines in structured data.
- Two languages. Every article is published as a Japanese and English pair.
How we cite
- Paper explainers show the paper page, PDF, authors and date in the "Primary source" box at the top, and a reference list at the end.
- Foundations articles are being sourced one by one since October 20, 2026: for each claim we fetch primary sources (papers, official documentation, standards, official code), check them, and list identifier, title, URL and retrieval date under "Sources" at the end.
- We list only sources in which the quoted passage was actually found. A source that says nothing about the claim is not support, so it is not listed.
- Where the article and a primary source differ, the source is authoritative.
Articles with a source list right now: 350 of 449 (321 paper explainers; 29 of 128 foundations articles). These counts are recomputed on every build.
Corrections
When we find an error in a published article, we fix the text and record what was wrong, what it says now, and the source, in the corrections log. Corrections so far: 7.
If you spot an error, tell us in the article's comments or on the support page.
