driving

Definition
Vehicle driving, appearing almost exclusively in "autonomous driving". It is a demanding application because perception, prediction, planning, and control must run in real time and failures carry physical risk, so the literature dwells on safety validation and rare long-tail events as much as on accuracy. A recent strand applies vision-language models to driving decisions, aiming for systems that can reason about unusual scenes rather than only pattern-match familiar ones.
