Definition
The image sensor, and by extension a signal that the input is imagery. In driving perception the word is contrastive: camera-only stacks are cheap and rich in semantic cues like colour and signage, but they measure no depth directly, unlike LiDAR or radar. How a method resolves that missing depth — predicted distributions, learned queries, temporal accumulation — is the main design axis in camera-based 3D perception.
