GLOSSARY

typical

appears in 1 paper titles

Definition

Ordinary or representative — describing the middle of a distribution rather than an extreme. Papers use it to defend a choice of setting: a typical workload, a typical deployment, meaning the evaluation was not cherry-picked. Because typicality is the authors' judgment rather than a measured quantity, it is worth checking whether they justify the claim or merely assert it.
