Definition

Rarely alone; the compound decides the meaning. Time series is data indexed by time, real-time is a latency requirement, and training-time versus test-time distinguishes when a cost is paid. The last of these carries the most weight right now: test-time compute names the idea of spending more computation while answering — longer reasoning, more samples, search — as an axis of improvement separate from training a bigger model.
