Definition

The command-line shell. In agent research it is an action space: the model issues commands, reads stdout and stderr, and recovers from failures, and terminal-based benchmarks measure whether it can complete real tasks that way rather than just describing how. Watch for the unrelated reinforcement-learning sense — a terminal state is where an episode ends — which shares the word and nothing else.
