synthesis
appears in 9 paper titles
Definition
Producing new artifacts — image synthesis, speech synthesis, view synthesis, program synthesis. Largely interchangeable with generation, though it carries a more constructive, engineering flavor and predates the current generative wave in speech and graphics. Program synthesis is the notable special case: constructing a program that satisfies a specification, which is as much a search problem as a generative one.
