Definition

In an optimization or search framing, a solution is a candidate that satisfies the problem's constraints — not necessarily the answer, and rarely unique. Work that coevolves problems with their solutions uses the word for the policy or configuration that clears a generated environment, with each side pushing the other's difficulty upward. The plural carries the search-space connotation: many candidates exist, and they can be ranked.
