Definition

"Social" marks work about people in aggregate rather than a single user: platforms, networks, and how behavior propagates through them. It appears almost entirely inside compounds — social media, social network analysis, social bias — where the object of study is the structure of connections or the collective dynamics running on it. It does not by itself mean an agent's interpersonal ability; that sense is normally spelled out as social intelligence.
