GLOSSARY
simulacra
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
Copies that imitate the appearance of something without being the thing itself; the singular is simulacrum. It names populations of generative agents given memory, reflection, and planning, then left to interact in a simulated town and produce believable social behaviour. The word choice carries its own caveat: what is claimed is a convincing surface of human behaviour, not a model of the underlying cognition.
