series

Definition
Ordered data, and in practice almost always part of time series: sensor readings, prices, logs — observations indexed by time. The standard tasks are forecasting, classification, and anomaly detection, all of which depend on order the way language does, which is why sequence models built for text keep getting transplanted here. Periodicity and non-stationarity make it a genuinely different regime, though, not just text made of numbers.
