Definition
Scenarios are the situation types a method is evaluated under — not the data itself but the protocol around it. Continual learning papers distinguish task-incremental, domain-incremental, and class-incremental scenarios, which differ in what the model is told at test time. Safety papers use the word for hypothesized failure storylines. The practical consequence is that results from different scenarios are not comparable, even on identical data.
