GLOSSARY
requires
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
States a necessary condition — X requires Y means that without Y, the thing does not work. In a title this is a stronger claim than benefits from or is improved by, and it should be backed by evidence that removing the component actually breaks performance, typically an ablation. Read the word as a promise about what the experiments show, then check whether the paper demonstrates necessity or merely correlation.
