Definition
A family of large language models released by Alibaba. Its defining characteristics are open weights across a wide range of sizes, strong multilingual coverage with particular strength in Chinese and English, and a set of derivative models extending the base into vision, audio, and code. Because the weights are downloadable, Qwen checkpoints are a common starting point for fine-tuning and self-hosted deployment.
