A text-to-3D method that replaces Score Distillation Sampling with Variational Score Distillation. Where SDS drives a single 3D asset toward the diffusion prior — which tends to yield over-saturated, low-diversity, oversmoothed results — VSD treats the 3D representation as a distribution to be matched against that prior, which recovers fine detail and lets one prompt produce genuinely different assets.
