prioritize

Definition

To decide which of several competing demands wins. In the instruction-hierarchy literature it names the design goal directly: when retrieved content contradicts the system message, the model must prioritise the system message. Note the ordering here is over trust, not over time — unlike scheduling priorities, nothing is being queued; the lower-priority instruction is meant to be disregarded, not merely deferred.
