GLOSSARY
outperforming
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
The participial form of outperform, used to attach the claim to a noun — "a small model outperforming systems ten times its size". It carries the same meaning as the verb; only the grammatical position differs, which is why it is common in titles and opening sentences where the comparison must be compressed. The same caveat applies: benchmark and baselines determine what it is worth.
