Definition

Iteratively updating parameters so an objective improves — in deep learning, essentially a synonym for training. In a title, the object of optimising tells you the target of the contribution: the network's weights, an inference schedule, a prompt, a compiler decision. As with 'optimized', it describes a procedure being applied and almost never asserts that a global optimum was found.
