ongaro

Definition

The surname of Diego Ongaro, first author of the Raft consensus paper, whose stated goal was an algorithm as capable as Paxos but far easier to understand and teach. Raft went on to become the consensus layer in widely deployed systems such as etcd. The name identifies the author, not the algorithm.
