Definition

A hedge: for the most part, but not entirely. Authors use it to state a tendency while conceding exceptions, which is why it turns up in dataset descriptions and limitations sections. It also appears inside a proper name — MBPP, Mostly Basic Python Problems, a code-generation benchmark — where the hedge is doing honest work about how hard the tasks are.
