GLOSSARY
model

Definition
A parameterized function from inputs to outputs whose parameters were estimated from data. In everyday usage it means a specific trained artifact — a checkpoint you can load and run — but the same word also names the architecture that defines its shape. Statistics uses "model" for an assumed data-generating process; in ML the emphasis falls on the fitted artifact.
