Definition
Reaching or exceeding top human performance in a domain, used most often for games where the claim can be settled by match results rather than argued. Titles of the form "Mastering the game of X" belong to the reinforcement-learning line that culminated in systems learning from self-play alone. The word describes competence in one narrowly defined task, which is exactly why games could support it.
