Definition

Reached a level of competence at some task, usually stated as a strong claim — surpassing human play or the previous best system. The phrasing has been a title convention since work on board games. Read it narrowly: mastery is demonstrated on one benchmark under its rules, and it does not by itself imply the ability transfers to the messier real problems that benchmark stands in for.
