GLOSSARY
machine
appears in 7 paper titles
Definition
Appears as the first half of compounds — machine learning, machine translation — marking that a computer performs a task previously done by hand. The word carries a historical contrast: rules learned from data rather than written by experts. On its own it has no technical content, so in a title it tells you the framing, not the method.
