larger

Definition

A comparative that in this field almost always refers to parameter count, dataset size, or compute budget. "Larger models" normally means more parameters, and the phrase appears constantly as the foil in claims that a small model matches or beats bigger ones. Which axis is meant is often left implicit, and it matters: a model larger in parameters may be smaller in training tokens.
