GLOSSARY
intent
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
What the user actually wants to accomplish, as distinct from the literal words they used. Classical dialogue systems classify utterances into a fixed set of intents; agent systems must infer an actionable goal from an underspecified request and decide when to ask instead of guessing. The gap between instruction and intent is where most misalignment in everyday assistant behaviour lives — technically correct executions of a request nobody meant.
