GLOSSARY
human

Definition
Marks human involvement or a human baseline: human evaluation, human feedback, human-level performance. It shows up where automatic metrics are known to be inadequate — open-ended generation quality, helpfulness, safety judgments. The catch is cost and reliability: human ratings are slow, expensive, and vary between annotators, so papers should report inter-rater agreement alongside the scores.
