Definition

Performance stated relative to a human baseline — typically a measured human accuracy on the same benchmark, treated as the line to reach. The framing is convenient but fragile: the number depends entirely on which humans were tested, whether they were domain experts or crowdworkers, how much time they had, and what references they could use. Two papers can both claim human-level on one dataset while comparing against baselines that differ widely.
