Definition
Made by people, used to mark provenance against synthetic or model-generated content. The distinction has become load-bearing for two reasons: training repeatedly on model output degrades quality, and evaluation is meaningless if the test data was written by a sibling model. It is also getting harder to enforce, since the open web now mixes both, which is why crawl dates are increasingly treated as metadata that matters.
