Definition
Regular lattices — the pixel array of an image, the voxel array of a volume, the time axis of a uniformly sampled signal. Neighbourhood is determined by position alone, which is exactly what convolution exploits, making grids the easiest domain deep learning has. They serve as the reference case in geometric deep learning, with graphs, meshes, and point clouds treated as what you get once regular neighbourhood structure is taken away.
