GLOSSARY
gap
appears in 2 paper titles
Definition
A measurable difference between two levels — human versus model performance, training versus test accuracy, or an unaddressed hole in the literature. What the gap is between is carried by the modifier: generalization gap, capability gap, sim-to-real gap. Papers routinely motivate themselves by promising to close one, so the useful question is how the gap was measured and whether the proposed method narrows it or merely reframes it.
