GLOSSARY
fidelity
appears in 2 paper titles
Definition
How faithful generated output is to the target distribution or reference — sharpness, realism, absence of artifacts. In image synthesis it is quantified with metrics such as FID, and "high-fidelity" claims plausible fine detail. Fidelity trades against diversity: turning up guidance strength makes samples cleaner and more on-prompt while narrowing the range of what the model produces, so single-number comparisons can hide which side of that trade a method sits on.
