GLOSSARY
engine
appears in 2 paper titles
Definition
The component that actually does the work, packaged so different applications can sit on top of it: an inference engine, a search engine, a physics or game engine. The word implies reusable machinery rather than a specific product. In serving papers it typically means the runtime that schedules and executes a model — batching, caching, memory management — as distinct from the weights themselves.
