Definition

The verb of an enabling claim: X enables Y asserts that Y was not merely worse before but out of reach, and that X supplied the missing precondition. It is a stronger statement than improve, and it sets a correspondingly higher bar — the honest reading is to ask what the paper shows was previously impossible, since many titles use it where a percentage gain is all that was demonstrated.
