efficient

Definition
Signals that the contribution is cost reduction rather than raw accuracy: same quality with fewer FLOPs, less memory, less data, or lower latency. Because the word is unqualified on its own, the useful question is always which axis — training compute, inference latency, parameter count, memory bandwidth — and against which baseline. Wins on one axis often cost you another.
