GLOSSARY
e-commerce
appears in 2 paper titles
Definition
Online retail, which in ML papers is usually the application domain rather than the contribution. Typical tasks are search ranking, recommendation, product-description generation, and demand forecasting. The domain is attractive for research because the objective is unusually well defined — clicks, conversions, revenue — and evaluation can run as a live A/B test. The corresponding drawback is that the data is proprietary, so published results are often hard to reproduce.
