GLOSSARY
design
appears in 3 paper titles
Definition
The act of choosing a structure and its components, or the choices themselves. Papers foreground it — model design, system design, hardware-software co-design — when they want to credit gains to structural decisions rather than to more data or more compute. The phrase design choice usually points at a specific knob the authors ablated in order to show that it mattered.
