debias

Definition
To remove a systematic skew rather than random noise. In LLM evaluation it usually means correcting a judge model's known preferences — for longer answers, for its own writing style, for whichever candidate appears first — while in fairness work it means shrinking output differences across demographic groups. Either way the target is the bias term, the offset in the expected value, not the variance.
