Definition
A protocol where several model instances argue — each states a position, sees the others' rebuttals, and revises — and the final answer is taken from the resolved exchange. The premise is asymmetry: a wrong claim is easier to attack than a right one is, so scrutiny favours truth. It differs from self-consistency, which simply takes a majority vote over independent samples; in debate the samples actually respond to each other.
