GLOSSARY
cortical
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
Of the cerebral cortex — the outer sheet of the brain. In neuroscience-facing papers it localises a signal: cortical activity, cortical sources, meaning the response is attributed to cortex rather than to subcortical structures such as the thalamus or basal ganglia. Most work on sensory processing and higher cognition is framed at the cortical level.
