GLOSSARY
contexts

Definition
The material a model can see at inference time — prompt, retrieved documents, tool output, conversation history. The plural usually signals a paper comparing across settings: different lengths, languages, or sources. The distinction that matters is against parametric knowledge: what is in context is supplied fresh on every call and vanishes afterwards, while what is in the weights persists but cannot be changed without training.
