Definition

Groups of nodes densely connected inside and sparsely connected to the rest of the graph. They can be found from structure alone, without labels, which makes them a natural unit for summarizing a large graph — GraphRAG-style systems build one summary per community. The idea overlaps with clustering, but the signal is connectivity rather than distance in a feature space.
