Uncontrolled, non-expert capture — someone waving a phone around rather than a calibrated multi-camera rig. In 3D reconstruction and novel-view synthesis, working from casual video is a practicality claim: no turntable, no known poses, no studio. It also makes the problem harder, because the method must absorb shake, rolling shutter, exposure shifts, and objects that move while the camera does.
