GLOSSARY
augmented
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
Extended with something external rather than made larger internally: retrieval-augmented generation adds fetched passages to the context, tool-augmented models add the results of calling calculators, search, or code execution. The appeal is that capability arrives without touching the weights, and can be updated or audited independently. Keep it apart from data augmentation, which means synthetically expanding a training set — the same adjective, a different operation.
