GLOSSARY
aligned
appears in 1 paper titles
Definition
Describes a model whose behaviour has been shaped to follow human intent — instruction tuning, preference optimization, safety training — as opposed to a base model that merely continues text. Papers use it as a status label: the aligned checkpoint is the one you can hand to a user. Beware a second, unrelated sense in multimodal work, where aligned means two modalities have been mapped into a shared embedding space.
