Definition

To attach something to an existing system. Titles of the form "adding X to Y" usually promise a way to give a pretrained model a new capability or conditioning signal without retraining it from scratch. The selling point is cost: reusing existing weights and touching only a small new component is far cheaper than starting over, and it preserves the original behaviour.
